One Punch Man: Review by Jonah Stamps

 One Punch Man

Summary

Imagine a world, far in the future where monsters regularly attack the world. These monsters can kill many people and destroy entire cities by themselves. In order to combat this, many rich billionaires fund a project to start the hero association. This would allow people with special strengths and abilities to be able to fight these monsters and save many lives. That is the world of One Punch Man. The world is attacked by many monsters and it is up to the strongest heroes to defeat the monsters and save the world

The story follows a man named Saitama, who has been training for the past three years to be a hero. He begins as being a hero just for fun, but he isn't able to have much fun. He isn't able to have fun because he is so strong that no matter the enemy, he is able to kill anything with just one punch. He eventually joins the hero association, and nobody is able to know just how strong he is because he starts at the very bottom of the hero ranks. As he goes on adventures, his rank grows and grows, showing a few people just how strong he is. Saitama also fights many strong foes along the way, giving the reader many good fights to see.

Review

One Punch Man is one of my favorite manga I have ever read. One Punch Man is labeled as a comedy because, unlike many other series about fighting and becoming stronger, Saitama no matter the foe is able to kill the creature with extreme ease. So much ease that in fact, the story mainly shows other characters struggling against villains and then Saitama defeating them easily. This is because each villain would be killed almost immediately, and there would be no story.

One thing I love very much are the visuals. The visuals are some of the best I have ever seen in a manga, and the best I have ever seen in general. They are so good in fact that when the series gets animated, one of the best animating studios there has to animate it because the visuals are so intricate. Overall, I love this series because it is fun to read and the jokes made are funny. It is also fun to read because the story is amazing and the visuals are the best. I give this series a 5/5

  1. Great blog! I haven't seen the manga, but I remember loving the anime (highly recommend). I agree with the comedy categorization, and I think part of the reason it is so good is because how rare that label is with anime and manga.
